This painting was my submission for LAOTY. The judges liked the monochrome palette and the stories within the painting. I was selected to appear on the second day of Ascot. We had to be there at 8:30am in order to start filming for 9am. It was none stop. The subject matter was very challenging. They decided to have the wildcards in front of us which was a first for the show. In my opinion it was because the view of the race course was boring.
We had 4 hours to paint the subject but in reality we had about another hour. But with so many interruptions I definitely required all the time. I won my heat with another monochrome
painting -

The semifinal was filmed at the Thames Barrier in London. This proved another difficult subject which I didn't execute very well. The show aired in February 2023.
